Normal will not exist,

for the foreseeable future

Turns out, I’d like some normalcy

Today is Monday,

I wouldn’t have minded (or maybe I would have) setting an alarm at 8am,

showering, making myself a to-go cup of coffee in my little college kitchen, and grabbing a pop tart on my way out of the door.

I wouldn’t have minded driving to campus, paying to park at Tate, and walking into the MLC — meeting up with Ben, maybe Tucker and Sam

I wouldn’t have minded walking up to Park Hall, going to my James Joyce class, and sitting in the back corner of the room, exchanging funny glances with Zac and Rainey

I wouldn’t have minded (or maybe I would have) rushing home, making lunch, and driving to tennis to play with Emily and Colleen… and being really really bad at it, but still laughing at it

I wouldn’t have minded the quiet hustle and bustle that Mondays bring at the cardboard box -- the unspoken understanding that we are all on the run, cheering each other on, because of Young Life.

I wouldn’t have minded (or maybe I would have) not loving, but really living in, a normal Monday.
